The 19th running of the Spa Six Hours was held September 23-25, 2011 at the 4.352 mile, 21-turn Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. With a competitive field of 600 historic racing cars, warm weather and huge crowds, the event a great success and surely one of the strongest in Europe for 2011.

Wow. That was a lot of pictures and it took me a long time to get through them, BUT they were really, really exceptional and worth the effort. Great photos Jurrie.
Great pictures and with such depth to show a lot of the great Spa. Sure is enjoyable to see the Ferrari 330 GTO driven with such vigor. Well done to its owner!
A difference of opinion: Poor quantity (Jurrie) certainly does not make up for good quality (Hundsheid, Falkner) and it runs down your great publication.
Great shot of the Cobra, but it was Griffith 400’s of Sean and Michael McInerney and Jon Shipman/Reuben Niguels that posted the fastest laps and were right up there with the faster GT40’s and due to the fact that many of the GT 40’s had mechanical problems, the Griffith 400 of Jon Shipman led the entire field for a while. That the light pea green Griffith in the U-Tube six hour GT 40 race. SHOW US THAT PICTURE WHERE THE GRIFFITH 400 IS IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE OF RACE READY SPORTSCARS AND PUT IT IN PRINT.
Why don’t you guys take pictures of the King of the early 1960’s Production sportscars, the Griffith 400’s?
One would think that a sportscar that is faster than a Shelby AC Cobra and proves it time and time again should be on sportscardigest advertisement titled pictures.
That Cobra is probably the David Hart/Hugenholtz that was beaten by the Griffith 400 of the McInerney at Silverstone. One can see the race on U-Tube. Although that same Cobra won the SPA Endurance race in May 2011, it couldn’t handle the Griffiths at the 2011 SPA in September or at Silverstone.
Wonder where these super light Jaguars are coming from? There weren’t that many made to homologate them so why do they run with the Production cars? They should run in another class, and not with real homologated production cars like the Griffiths, Cobras, Porsche 904’s, and Corvettes.
Not sure of your point on this rant about Griffiths, but the fact of the matter is that GT40s won Le Mans three times and Cobras won major races as well in the day, not to mention everything on the regional stage. Just because a well-driven and highly modded present-day Griffith 400 is competitive, that doesn’t make it the equal of such heroic cars as the ones you mentioned.
Alan: I don’t need to rant for the Griffith’s see it for yourself on U-tube; 2011 Silverstone Gentlemen Drivers race. The British spent millions to build the Silverstone raceway and is equivalent to our old Riverside Raceway in Southern California. So, you have David Hart/Hans Hugenholtz in their cobra and Sean and Michael McInerney in their Griffith 400, and the Griffith 400 wins the race!
And food for thought, a Jaguar E-class lightweight beat the Cobras and Griffiths at the September 2011 Spa Francorchamp,Sept. 27-29! However, it was the Griffith 400’s that were up with the Ford GT 40’s. See it on the GT 40 six hour race on U-tube. So, see it for yourself and enjoy it.

I have to respectfully disagree with Skip – there are some epic photos in this batch. Sure, it takes some digging, but wow there are some great ones in there. The 330 GTO pics, the F1 guys…a lot of great ones.
