On March 6, the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), Boston will unveil 16 classic European sports cars drawn from the personal collection of fashion mogul Ralph Lauren. On view through July 3, “Speed, Style and Beauty: Cars From the Ralph Lauren Collection” will showcase beautifully designed European automobiles created between the 1930s and the 1990s.
Some of the significant racecars that will be on display include: one of four 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 Mille Miglias, an ex-Birkin 1929 Blower Bentley, an ex-Nuvolari/Varzi/Benoist 1933 Bugatti Type 59 Grand Prix, a 1954 Ferrari 375 Plus, a 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, a 1961 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa 61 Fantuzzi Spyder, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, an ex-Biondetti, Targa Florio 1950 Jaguar XK120 Alloy Roadster, a 1955 Jaguar D-type, a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, and a 1996 McLaren F1.
