Jaguar Classic has announced that the continuation Jaguar XKSS will make its world debut at this fall’s Los Angeles Auto Show, scheduled for November 18-27 at the L.A. Convention Center. Production of the ultra-exclusive continuation car has been limited to just nine examples, hand-crafted by Jaguar Classic’s expert technicians and manufactured to the exact same specification as the cars originally produced in 1957.
Often referred to as the world’s first supercar, the XKSS was originally built by Jaguar as a road-going version of its Le Mans-winning D-Type, with the cars built in 1957 originally earmarked for export to the U.S., but disaster struck and a number were lost to the fabled Browns Lane fire that same year. Now, 59 years later, Jaguar is building the nine “lost” XKSS sports cars, all of which have already been pre-sold to a select group of established collectors and customers, with first deliveries planned for early next year.
