The Thoroughbred Grand Prix organization (TGP) recently announced that Cosworth Racing has been named a primary sponsor of the 2003 FIA TGP Championship.
The TGP championship is an FIA-sanctioned series of races for Formula One cars built between 1965 and 1985. As such, the dominant engine used in the series is the venerable Cosworth DFV, which powered the lion’s share of cars run in that era and celebrates its 45th anniversary this year.
According to Brendan Connor, CEO of Cosworth Racing, “Cosworth Racing is delighted to be principal supporters of the TGP Championship in 2003 as part of our 45th anniversary birthday celebrations. The TGP Championship gives us a unique opportunity to celebrate in true racing style and fashion the enormous contribution by Cosworth, and notably, its founders and employees to the history of Formula One.”
