Monaco Historic Grand Prix 2010 – Results and Photo Gallery

The 7th Monaco Historic Grand Prix took place May 1-2, 2010 on the 3.34 km Monaco Grand Prix Circuit. The bi-annual Monaco Historics is considered as one of the top historic track events, as classic grand prix cars compete on the same track as the modern Formula One cars competing in the 68th Monaco Grand Prix, held May 16th.

The Monaco Historics is open, on invitation, to cars as defined by Appendix K of the FIA International Sporting Code.

Competitors must provide the FIA Historic Technical Passport and must be in conformity with technical and safety norms as defined in the FIA International Sporting Code and particularly its appendix K. Nearly 400 applications were submitted to the Selection Committee, of which 250 were accepted.

New to the 7th Grand Prix de Monaco Historique is the introduction of two Formula 3 races, replacing the Formula Junior series held at the last event. Practice and qualifying sessions for the eight race groups took place on Saturday 1st May and the races were held on Sunday 2nd May. The races are 10 laps each, or a maximum of 30 minutes, with 15 laps or a maximum of 45 minutes for the Formula One, 3-litre car races.

The race weekend was completed with two parades, the Credit Suisse Classic Car Rally on Saturday and the “Silver Arrows – Auto Union” on Sunday.
