International Motor Racing Research Center 2009 Raffle CarThe International Motor Racing Research Center will raffle a very unique Corvette previously owned by Gilmore/Foyt racing team sponsor Jim Gilmore.

This is one-of-two ever produced 1984 Corvettes, painted in the eye-catching ‘Hugger Orange’ color used on the Gilmore-Foyt race cars. This car was originally owned by AJ’s long time sponsor and friend, the late Jim Gilmore, (the other car was given to Foyt by Gilmore), has the dash signed by AJ, has less than 19,000 miles on the odometer and is in showroom condition with all factory options available in 1984. Included is complete documentation as to the vehicle’s original ownership including the original insurance card, application for title in Gilmore’s name, all the owners manuals, service records and window sticker.

As a special gift to the winner, a print of Foyt wining his fourth Indy 500 signed by Gilmore, AJ, and the artist, Doug Wilkins, is also included.

Tickets are priced at $60 each or two for $100 and only 1984 will be sold. They can be purchased at www.racingracingarchives.org, by telephone at 607-535-9044 or at the Center, 610 S. Decatur Street,
Watkins Glen, NY, 14891. Checks should be made payable to IMRRC and tickets are deductible to the extent allowed by the IRS. The drawing will be held on Saturday, November 14th and the winner need not be present to win.

The International Motor Racing Research Center, located in Watkins Glen, NY, celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2008. This one-of-a-kind facility is supported entirely by donations from enthusiasts and is dedicated to preserving the heritage of motor sport and receives no support from federal state or local sources. The Center’s core collection includes more than 3,000 reference books, as well as hundreds of films, race posters and programs, periodicals, club records, thousands of photographs and other motor sports ephrema. Over 5000 people visit the Center each year.
