For the first time since April 2011, we have updated the look and feel of Sports Car Digest. Readers will benefit from larger pictures and gallery functionality, better image captioning, more interactive search functionality and easier navigation throughout the site.
Similar to previous updates, the biggest changes are under the hood as we moved to a beefier platform that allows us to better manage the site going forward. Over time our ‘chassis’ had become burdened by too many upgrades that don’t always work well together. We threw out the old, rusty sled, allowing us to “add lightness” and start fresh with a leaner and meaner system. Stories and images will load quicker, resulting in an environment that will be less prone to issues and more prone to a smooth, carefree user experience. As with any major update, we anticipate a couple hiccups until we have the new site completely stabilized. Until then, we sincerely thank you for your patience and continued support.
The biggest change readers will likely notice is our new search functionality, which is now fast and much more modern in its approach. It will hopefully assist those trying to navigate their way through our massive archives. The new design also incorporates a ‘responsive’ platform that will adapt the layout of the site based upon a wide range of devices. Desktop users will now see the full-width site, while readers on their smartphone will have a different experience that’s tailored to the smaller screen.
We hope you like the changes to Sports Car Digest and we welcome your feedback. Please send ideas, comments, questions, observations or suggestions to mail (at) sportscardigest.com.

All of that sounds almost gratuitous, given the beautiful imagery and reportage you provide. If I could plead for one thing, it would be for picture captions telling what the particular car is, especially on the retrospective kinds of events, like the Mille Miglia Storica, etc. I know most of them by sight, but there are some 50s vintage very small Italian and French marques that are really interesting to me, but I do not know their backgrounds.
You guys are doing a super job! Keep up the great work. Your readers’ theme song is: “Why don’t you write me? I’m out in the jungle/I’m hungry to hear you …” Paul Simon.

The old way was much better because you had so many beautiful car pic’s.
Same pics on the new look, but they’re bigger now!
Gorgeous site guys! Looks as good on my iPad as it does on my 27″ iMac.
The photos are always great. I like the larger type but not the type face. I find it a little hard to read. Keep up the great work.
I love the larger pictures. The definition is just as good as it was, but now the pix are super sized. Fantastic.
My newsletter no longer has pictures presented properly, they seem to have size restricted to a narrow heading?
