World-leading motorsport and automotive engineering company HWA AG has started customer deliveries of the HWA EVO super sedan, two years after unveiling the project to the public. Chassis #001 has been delivered to Prof. Dr. Friedhelm Loh and will join the renowned Loh Collection at the Nationales Automuseum.
Exclusive handover at the Loh Collection
The handover of HWA EVO chassis #001 took place during a private ceremony at the museum, attended by Prof. Dr. Friedhelm Loh, Simon-Markus Loh, HWA founder Hans Werner Aufrecht, and HWA CEO Martin Marx.
The first customer delivery marks a significant milestone for both HWA AG and the HWA EVO project. What began as an ambitious concept has evolved into a fully engineered, road-legal performance car that blends the iconic character of the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 EVO II with modern engineering and technology. Customer vehicles are now rolling off HWA’s production line in Affalterbach.
HWA EVO #001 was finished in the iconic 199 Blue-Black Metallic paint scheme, paying tribute to the original Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 EVO II. The car will be displayed at the Nationales Automuseum The Loh Collection alongside the collection’s Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 EVO II chassis #001 and #500.
CEO reflects on milestone
Martin Marx, CEO of HWA AG, said: “Delivering the HWA EVO marks a milestone that the entire team looks back on with great pride. In just over two years, we have transformed an initial design study into a fully developed and homologated high-performance vehicle. Now the HWA EVO begins the next chapter of its story – on the road and with our customers.”
HWA has also delivered chassis #002 to its new owner, Willibald Dörflinger, principal shareholder of HWA AG, marking the official start of customer deliveries for the limited-production model.
Prototype PT01 joins the collection
During the event, HWA also unveiled prototype PT01, which has been acquired by Simon-Markus Loh. The prototype played a key role in the development of the HWA EVO, completing extensive testing and validation programs throughout the engineering phase.
Among its duties, PT01 was used by Bosch Engineering GmbH and appeared in demonstration runs during the 2025 ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring. The prototype will now become part of a special display at the Loh Collection.
HWA EVO.R also showcased
Also on display is the HWA EVO.R wearing the livery of HWA partners SONAX and Kärcher. The competition version of the HWA EVO raced in the 2026 ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring and is now being offered as a customer race car under the HWA EVO R name.
Celebrating HWA’s heritage
To commemorate the vehicle handover, the Nationales Automuseum is also exhibiting Klaus Ludwig’s championship-winning 1992 DTM race car. Displayed alongside the historic racer are the EVO II models, the HWA EVO, the PT01 prototype, and the HWA EVO.R, creating a unique exhibition that highlights the past, present, and future of HWA’s engineering legacy.
To celebrate the third anniversary of the Nationales Automuseum The Loh Collection, all six vehicles will be on display from Wednesday, July 22, 2026, as part of a special exhibition in the museum’s marketplace area.
