This site features photography taken at California Sports Car races during 1961 and 1962 by a young man learning to use his new medium format camera. Forgotten about for nearly 50 years, this treasure trove of photos features never before seen shots of both the big names and big cars of the day, as well as a bewildering assortment of lesser knowns and rare cars typically overlooked by professional photographers of the time.
Of particular interest is a fabulous series of mpeg movies shot during the period with a home movie camera. As the photographer is first to admit, the photo quality is not always the greatest, but the historical content and flavor are priceless.
