Businessman Martyn Corfield is no stranger to challenges in the fields of motoring and motor racing. A year ago, we profiled his Austin-Healey 100 record car (Vintage Racecar – October 2015). Meticulously, he and Jeremy Welch researched, to the finest detail, everything he needed to build a carbon copy. Not satisfied with the building of the car, his car had to break records too, just as Donald Healey had done at Bonneville with the original. Replacing Bonneville with the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, England, together with Jeremy, his ambition was realized, setting 19 international speed records along the way.
